Question Online application 'tracking' a problem

Hi, as a New member to BE this is my first cry for help!
Is there anyone out there who has applied for their Australian Visa Online and is having trouble 'tracking' their progress?
We are using an agent but getting very frustrated as we can't seem to access our status using the Autralian Government DIAC site :curse:
Like everyone else who applied in November 2007 we are stuck in the backlog and the waiting is agony and this 'blip' with the system isn't helping ( our agent insists they have accessed our application without a problem, unless the site goes down )
Know it won't solve the problem but it always helps to know we aren't alone in this?
Thanks
Carole

Hi Carole

Yes, there have been a few teething problems with the online system, have you tried logging on with your TRN details here:
https://www.ecom.immi.gov.au/inquiry/query/query.do?action=eVisa

As far as a backlog in November is concerned, its really August that caused a huge deluge of applications from people in August, I can't remember the estimates but it was well over what they normally get in a month. This has caused delays all round, especially for those in August. As a result they have a lot of catching up to do.

If you send a blank email to: [email protected] you will receive a weekly update on processing times (well, they update it most weeks!) At the moment, they are up to the 21st Sept for allocations of case officers for post Sept applications, they have been at this date since the beginning of November - so that gives you some idea of the lack of speed!
But, on a positive note, some from early October have received case officers in the last 2 weeks and they are also granting lots of visas from June and now July so hopefully they are catching up at both ends.

If you look on the immigration section, you'll find specific threads for each month, where you can keep an eye on how things are going.

Good luck

Sam
