Employer sponsored 856, application went in on 22 October to the Melbourne office.
Much quicker than i was expecting

Hi All

I had filed for my PR online on 16/10/2010. When I check the PR progress link, it still shows the last status update done on 16/10/2010 as "Application received - processing commenced".
Seems nothing has moved ever since I filed it. My application is under subclass 175.

Can anyone pl share their experience on this? Thanks.

As per 175 category your file in cat 3 processing....right now importance of CAT2 (SMP) is first compared to others...so your file must not move within 4-5 months....first they want to finish cat 2 file and will move later on cat 3 ...so sorry but you need to wait for atleast 5-6 monts to get case officer...

why would it? The DIAC website states HERE that you are looking at 18-24 months from lodgement for the visa to be finalised. I lodges on 1 Jul 10 and have seen no change.

It's also been stated on here many times that the online status may not change until the visa has been granted

If everyone that lodged a 175 application in October "shared their experiences", I am just about certain they would all say nothing has happened yet. How does this help you?

It is not likely something would have happened to your status within 2 months when the processing time is 18 to 24 months.

I DONT THINK they have finished priority 2 even.becoz mine shows commenced and application further processed and a co contacted me after that long slumber. i m going to polar bear winter nap.hehe relax guys try to network to kill time when its our turn it will come

Sorry for exposing my paranoia however, its been 5 months I lodged my application and I havent seen anything moving so far. I understand that it'll take 18-24 months to get things resolved however, just wanted to check if there'll be any status change once a case officer is assigned to me or would I get an email etc etc.

based on 16th Feb update from Adelaide skilled processing center, Almost all of
priority 2 applicants upto 2nd week of Feb 2011 are allocated.

Also they have directed all 175 applicants till June 2010 from lr countries to go for medicals and pcc. Seems things are speeding up
