Hi everyone

Just thought that we would give you an update on how our app is going.

We appplied 1/10/2009 and within 13 days we got a CO!!!
They required three more pieces of info from us these were:

1.Letter to state we were in long term relationship back in 2007 (proof of address)
2.Australian police check for my partner as he is an Aussie and moved to uk few years ago, they require this as we have a dependant included in the app.
3.Letter from solicitors to state parental responsibility.

We have proveded all the above and sent them off on monday!! they said if we provide this info we will more than likely get PR streight away!! woohoooo

We are now waiting on the mail man everyday lol !!!

i also got CO assigned within 14 days and she's asked for medical, police clearance and some documents related to sponsorship from my relative.

I will be sending all the docs within a couple of days

I was in the same boat, wondering why we hadnt heard anything. Our receipt of payment (did it at the london office) said it would be done in 7-10. We waited 2 weeks and still nothing so we went back in there. Turns out the CO had contacted us the day after we first visited- only problem being he didnt enter our email address correctly so he sent it to the wrong one. Its lucky we went in (it hasnt been the only stuff up). As it stands we only lost two weeks of time, could have been much more.

Only thing we can do at this point of time is to "WAIT and WATCH"...

Does anyone know what happens between the time when the Visa Officer makes sure all your documents and correct, to when a CO is assigned ?

I've just noticed that my file changed its status to "Application being processed further" on November 11... Wow so quick!! just 15 days after my application (oct. 26)... Anybody else with this status?

one thing that i have observed here....is that paper-based applications got CO assigned within 12 - 15 days dont know whats the reason for that

Dear all.

When online lodgement, there is a question item:

have you ever been to australia with a visa ?Do you currently hold a australian visa ?

My situation is I currently hold ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) and entered
Australia for one time this August.

However, how could I enter visa number ?? There is no visa number for ETA ?

And, I have put "no" for that questiom item.

My question is How should I inform DIAC that I have been Australia under ETA this August?

Yeah! I got that too, and my chest x-rays say received too. Does that mean the CO is already doing his job ?

Which visa have you applied for ? ... I'm on the 175

Hi Seth, I am on the 175 too, CSL.

As far as I know, that means that there is somebody doing a pre-check of the docs to pass them to a CO afterwards. Please, correct me if I am wrong!

Thats what my agent said. Unfortunately he's not able to predict how long it will be before a CO takes up the case, after the documents have been checked.

Few of the 176s on BE seem to have gotten their CO within 3 weeks of applying, so I'm hoping it wont take much longer than 6 -7 weeks. But again Hope can be futile against DIAC timelines...
