What's the different between pre-grant letter and grant letter ?
Why do some applicants obtain grant letter directly ?

Hi, I think you'll receive a pre-grant if you're an off-shore applicant. You'll need to leave Australia before granting you a visa.

As far as I know, the pre-grant letter is issued when a secondary applicant doesn't take the IELTS or don't get enough points in it (4,5 overall). Then, you have to pay an additional fee before obtain the Grant Letter.

Hi All

Glad to see that most people have a CO ..I am just wondering whether its a good/bad idea to send a PLE enquiring about the status of my application...my occupation is on what is still the CSL as of today and I did send a PLE at time of lodgement informing DIAC of this....but I have heard nothing since..I was happy to wait but in light of todays announcements I wonder if certain occupations that arent going to be on the new SOL will now be refused...also does anyone have any thoughts on what will happen to existing applications once the new SOL is announced...

..no documents currently showing as met...would I be right to assume that I may be lucky enough to be in the final stages subject to the above forms presenting no issues??
