It is going to be a long long wait for NZ citizenship as there are
heap of backlogs and too few case officers to handle the huge surge in
the number of applications due to the Identity Bill.
Anyone to share their experiences?

And frustrating, especially for those who have had many years to apply for NZ citizenship and have not bothered up to now.
When the British ended some transitional citizenship entitlements at the end of 1987, it caused such a backlog of applications at the Home Office it took years for the system to get back to normal.
If waiting times become unreasonably long, people affected should write to their MP to press for more resources to be devoted to processing applications. Not only is the waiting time longer than Australia to begin with, the process itself takes much longer.
