Nurse applying for 190

Hi everyone

I'm a registered nurse in the UK and am looking to move with my husband and daughters to Australia via the 190 visa.

I'm having a bit of a struggle with getting my head around the order with which to do first as reading contradictory information online.

I'd read as part of applying for the 190 you first needed to put in an EOI and receive an offer from the state. But before you can put in the EOI you had to be registered through AHPRA. I've gone and submitted my application through AHPRA and am awaiting the decision.

Now I'm reading that I shouldn't have done the AHPRA registration yet as once granted you have 3 months to present in person which has to be in one of their Aus offices.

Should I have done the ANMAC skills assessment first, applied for the 190 visa then register through AHPRA?

I'm so confused!! I think I may have wasted £500+. I'd be hugely grateful for any help! 🙂

You need the ANMAC skills assessment in place before you submit your EOI. You will need AHPRA registration to actually practice in Australia once your visa is granted.

Thank you very much for the clarification Paul that's really kind. 😊
