Non Melbourne Victoria

Non Melbourne Victoria
Hi
For those moving to or having already moved to Victoria is there anyone who has or is planning on living outside Melbourne i.e. Grampians, Alps or areas not commutable to Melbourne. Everyone seems to want to be in or around the big cities.
I personally will probably need to be near a city for work (as most people I think.) because I think that most industry is there not out in the sticks but this may be a wrong opinion. In the UK there are plenty of businesses outside of the major cities. Manufacturing etc.....

My bother lives in Beechworth (3-4 hours north of Melbourne) and absolutely loves it. We will probably end up near Melbourne in the first instance due to work, but may look to move out a bit further in a few years.
As for where you need to be for work - that very much depends on what you do - my job is pretty specialised so probably can't go too far from Melbourne. My borther is a drugs and alcohol counsellor and they need those all over Oz.
