Default Non-Contributory Parent Visas & Other Family visas

Now that the election period is over and the government is back to work we are seeing a range of new legislation coming through.

(Note this is NOT Contributory parent visas)

The maximum number of Non-Contributory Parent Visas that can be issued in the 2016/17 year has been set at:

  • Parent (Migrant) (Class AX) and Aged Parent (Residence) (Class BP) visas - 1550; and
  • Other Family (Migrant) (Class BO) and Other Family (Residence) (Class BU) visas - 520.

Last year the figures were 2295 and 595 so it is likely that the processing times for these visas to extend further.

Hi Tee.

I think the numbers for 2016/17 are in fact the same as for 2015/16?

Best regards.

Thanks for pointing that out Alan - looks like I picked up the previous year (2014/15) figure for comparison.

Thanks Alan
