We are emigrating later this year and I was just wondering if there is any options for my mother and step father to join us.
My step father is 58 now so I know there is probably no chance of him getting out but wonder if anyone can prove me wrong.
My step father owns a refridgeration company here (which he has ran with big profits for the last 30 years), he manufactures and installs huge refridgerators, and cool rooms, and freezers for hotels, restaurants etc etc. He is the main technical man.
Is there any chance of him getting over business wise, so he can work, I believe you have to be under 55, but in acceptional circumstances they may accept you.
Is his Technical expertise something they are short of in Oz???
Many thanks
Tracey

Have you thought about the Contributory Parent visa?
The Retirement visa may also give a temporary solution - remember this closes to new applicants on 1 July.
