SkillSelect 189/190/489 Age Limit Lowered to <45
For anyone looking at the Skilled Independent Visas Subclasses 189/190/489 please be aware that as of the 1st July 2017 the DIBP have reduced the maximum age for this visa to <45 i.e. a maximum of 44 years of age.
The announcement that the 189 visa was to reduce in age had been mentioned some time ago, the DIBP confirmed the 190/489 were also to be included yesterday.

Yes the age limit is being lowered for the Direct Stream of the 186 and 187 visas.
A maximum age requirement of <45 at the time of application will apply to Direct Entry stream applicants.
A maximum age requirement of <50 at the time of application will continue to apply to Temporary Residence Transition stream applicants
A maximum age requirement of <45 at the time of application will apply to Direct Entry stream applicants.
A maximum age requirement of <50 at the time of application will continue to apply to Temporary Residence Transition stream applicants

Do you have any idea what will happen with the 187 agreement stream? Is this also dropping to 45?

If the details have been released yet (and they may not have) it is not information I have to hand as it would not impact any of my current clients.
