Default New nurse

Hi all

Can anyone tell me if a newly qualified nurse can get sponsorship without having any work experience in the UK?

Thank you.

Red face Re: New nurse

Hi , not really sure about that , i know you can do a nurse graduation programme when you get out there. Try posting on the nursing forum, its generally looked at by nurses and most questions get answered on there. I'm a student nurse,(2nd yr) hoping to head to perth once qualified.
Where you thinking of going ?
Good luck

Hi Emmo,

I qualified in March 07 and have managed to get a nurse grad position at Fremantle. Had an interview last oct/nov, but they generally interview in June or July i believe for the grad programs. I would suggest looking at hospitals in the area you want to go & see if they have grad programs.

Good luck

YES.

Consider the RSMS visa:
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skill...rsms/index.htm

Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra, Darwin, Cairns, Townsville etc are all eligible.

Alternatively, get 6 months work experience in the UK and look for Skill Matching sponsorship from a participating state/territory government.

If you are interested in a Graduate Nurse position in Australia, the application dates are around May/June this year for entry into most programs. If you are looking at the RSMS option, these websites are a starting point:

South Australia

Northern Territory

Tasmania

Hi, I qualified as a mental health nurse last October and am going out to Perth, Fremantle in July of this year to start the post grad course. I havent managed to get a job in the UK so it will be my first qualified position, scary! Representatives from WA came to my university looking for newly qualified nurses to employ, I had my interview and was offered a position, all relocation costs will be reimbursed so have nothing to lose by giving it a go! The courses start in either Feb or Aug. I'm starting in August. Hope this helps, all the best.
