New Forms - Form 40
Morning all - hope you are all well on this crisp sunny morning!
Just noticed that Form 40 (sponsorship) has been revised. Don't know the extent of the revision yet (will review in detail later today).
My question is: our Form 40 is currently on its way back to us from Melbourne (having been signed by our sponsors). I assume that DIMIA allow for a short period of time where they will accept either version? It seems crazy to have a simple drop-dead date for the changeover.
Don't mind completing the new Form 47SK as this is in our control, but to have to complete the new 40 and get it back down to Melbourne for signatures before getting it back to here for inclusion in our pack seems crazy.
Help!

Hi SG,
Once a form is approved it remains a legal form for making an application - however if the form is outmoded you can run the risk of delays later when the case officer requests the new form or information required by the new form. Not sure what the changes are to form 40, don't think they're earthshattering, however at http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/forms_changes.htm they're described as "essential" so you may wish to lodge now with the completed form 40 and have a new one ready to submit when you get the file number with your acknowledgement.
Cheers,
George Lombard
