my news from AHC re: medicals might help someone...
Hi everyone.
Don't know whether this might help you - but since applying for visa skilled ind Aug 2001 without medicals and police checks, have been worrying endlessly- thinking that perhaps if I did my medicals now and just sent them, I might hear something sooner. As my family and I are about to head to Aus for a few weeks end of May, I faxed AHC London and asked whether it would be worth getting our medicals done there (or here) re speeding up application.
I didn't expect a reply quite so soon, but got a polite, if brief, reply saying not to worry with medicals until we hear from them. So, for all you lot worrying about not having 'front-end loaded' maybe we should just hang on in there. Don't think it really makes much difference.
That said, perhaps the reply from AHC really meant don't bother getting medicals done cos you won't be hearing for another few years yet anyway!! AGGGH.
Cheers.

Hi Lisa,
We decided to go ahead and get our meds done etc and update our police docs. We applied on June 8th 2001 and I am to have all the paperwork in by the end of June this year.
We just felt we HAD to do something. I'll tell you how it goes.
