Depends where it is....

The DIAC website only has info, and even then not always clearly explained. Agents turn info into advice tuned to individsual circumstances. If you need advice, go see an agent. if you need info, you can get it from many places, not all of which are up to date or comprehensive enough.

i was just wondering why not bothering calling MARA and telling us their response... i think you'd rather pay the phone calls than paying the agent anyway...
sometimes i think (MY personal opinion) that it's good you process the application yourself as DIAC and the state would really see your diligence... but im not saying that those who use agents are lazy

Well, many agents DO NOT know what they are talking about in my experiance.
The ones who do get praise on here for good reason.

Makes you wonder if these two cases are the same company doesn't it..........

DIAC do not care whether you use an agent or not. They are not interested in the least in your "dilligence". It is clearly stated on the DIAC site that use of an agent will not impact on your case in any way.

May be I start a new thread on this, after firing my agent I don't know where my case stands. Don't know whether I have been assigned a CO or not. I sent the 1193 form on 17th, got only automated reply so far. Also made an enquiry through online enquiry form (http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/forms/gsm/post.htm), but no reply from there as well.

Should I wait or is there anything more I can do?

Thanks.

You just sent the form 3 days ago. You are going to have to be a little more patient and give it a week or two before you start stressing. There is absolutely nothing you can do to speed up any process so forget about your application until (I would say) at least the second week in January when people actuallly go back to work.
