Hi
I am on a 457 and my wife can work but I have a son just finished yr11
and wants a job for the summer any problem with him working???

All 457 dependants are free to work. Possibly you should be drumming this into him by charging him rent :-)

As long as he stays in full time education, a summer job should be ok.

No need to avoid full-time employment as he still has year 12 to go. Full-time work over the summer is ok.
But a lot of problems arise when children do finally become independent while holding a 457, and if ever there was a situation where the move to PR for the whole family was justified, this would be one.
