Moving to Aus from UK
I’m a British citizen and work as a Maths teacher in a Secondary school. I have got QTS ( qualified teacher status). I am wondering if it’s possible for me to move to Australia on skill migration visa. If so, how can I do it? What is the process?
Thank you for your help,

The process is to see which occupation list your occupation is on. This decides which visas are open to you. Then, obtain a positive skills assessment, this is an assessment of qualifications and experience. Then look at points, this is where most people realise they need an English test such as ILETS. Then, lodge an eoi and wait to be invited. Depending on visa category you may also need a state to sponsor you. Obviously this is all more complex due to Covid. The best advice is to speak to a registered migration agent.

Secondary School Teacher is one of the occupations in the occupations in demand list for several skilled visa options. If you would like to send me an email I can send you an overview of those visas.
As very stormy states the situation at the current time is more complex with COVID with, as a broad generalisation, little current processing of most offshore skilled visa options outside the limited occupations targeted in the governments COVID response. Plus, the reduction of places in the budget is likely to increase competition.

You say you have QTS - question is, how did you get your teacher qualification? If you did a 3 year first degree then a 1 year University based PGCE you should be OK but if you did school based training then you wont be able to be a teacher in Australia.
