Default More than one application - risky?

Friends of ours are just over 40 and they score 105 points after we carefully added it up. I want to know if they can apply for state nomination at Vic or SA as well as apply for regional sponsorship (RSMS). If they apply for state nomination, and they are in the pool mark, and the new ‘bush’ visa allows them access to regional Australia… Would it be worth it to lodge 2 applications? Would a second app not jeopardize the other application? What can they do? They don’t have much time left and they have to make a jump for it.

Is it really true that if you fail one type of visa application your chances for migrating is jeopardized forever?

I would suggest that something this complex - and being a last chance saloon deal - they get an agent - If it goes wrong they just arent going to Oz.

pick someone close to you geographically (so you can speak to them in your time zone and if required you can get in a car and go and see them) and question them closely to ensure they are registered with MARA and have experience in dealing with this type of case.

Hi Annelie,

RSMS depends on getting a regional sponsor, no point applying unless there's
a sponsor in the offing. You can also send your cv to Victoria for STNI
before you apply. but to answer your question there are no risks in making
more than one application except losing your money. We don't know if the
new bush visas are going to include people with 105 points, it might be
better to wait until June.

Cheers

Thank you for the advice, George. Just one more question:

See, what they are afraid of is to get rejected and not be able to make another application.

Their Migration Agent told them that they need to compile the application correctly the first time, or they will be refused from ever applying for migration again. Is this really true? I think this is their only reason for passivity and letting time pass by. Their migration agent says he can help with a regional sponsor (RSMS). But nothing is happening.

They are the ones that got us thinking about leaving for Australia. Now they are getting behind. Our efforts to convince them to at least try other applications on their own fail every time because the agent told them that it could jeopardize other applications if they fail the first.

To be accepted into Australia, you at least have to try to get in.

Sorry for taking so long to explain exactly what I mean.

Hi Annelie,

Doesn't sound like an agent I would want to deal with; offering an RSMS
sponsorship seems too good to be true, and the business of not being able to
apply again is just not true. Best if they see someone who is both
registered and reputable.

cheers
