Moore Park - Sydney - Anyone live there?

Hi All,

We're off in a few weeks to Sydney. I have been looking on various websites for properties to rent and areas to live. I have been quite impressed with the new devlopments at Moore Park, however I am not aware of that area.

If there is anyone out there who lives in Moore Park and could give me some advice, I would be really grateful. Positives aswell as negaitves would be appreciated.

Cheers,

HI

Depends which development site / address it is.

More park is OK. But the public transport is limited. No trains and buses
infrequent.

If you are on about the Moore part apartments, on South Dowling then this is
a BIG complex. You are on the eastern distributor which has a lot of cars
and will be a nightmare if you plan to drive. This is because the road that
runs outside the complex is the main road to bypass the toll on the eastern
distributor. This road is usually blocked with loads of cars.

Again it depends where it is. I have seen developers advertise there
properties miles (km's) away from the boundary of the true place.

If you are moving to syd and renting for the short term, I would recommend
getting a place that is near a train line.

P.S Stay clear of Redfern if you have children or don't want to be watching
your back for ppl who could mug you. Redfern has some nice and cheap
apartments but it's an area that is frequented by alot of drug dealing.

Is Moore Park near Redfern?

The apartments we were looking out are on Bourke Street, I
assumed being so close to the city that many buses would pass by.

Are there any relatively economic areas in the Eastern Suburbs.
Hopefully if we both get work, we will be looking to get a place for around AS$400'000.00 which I know is not much in the Sydney market. We don't have any children and would be looking to get a 2 bedroom apartment.

Any ideas or experiences would be apprerciated.

Cheers

Hi,
I agree with you.I'm working in Moore Park - Supa Centa which is on
the corner of South Dowling Street & Todman Avenue. During peak hours
driving is really a nightmare.
