$400 a month on food , wish we had your diet what you eat rice and beans?we spend over double that for 2 people wait till I get hold of her indoors wasting money on food where will it end?

These good people in Victoria may have bigger food bills?

Obesity puts pressure on hospitals

October 23, 2002
VICTORIA will need three new hospitals in the next 20 years if current obesity trends continue, Health Minister John Thwaites has warned.

Mr Thwaites, who will today launch a conference in Melbourne on obesity, said urgent action was needed to prevent it becoming the state's biggest health problem.

"Obesity is leading to increasing numbers of diabetes, heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure," he told ABC Radio.

"It is going to put an unmanageable strain on the health system unless we reduce the numbers of people who are becoming obese."

Some 61 per cent of all Victorian adults are considered overweight or obese, and the rate of obesity in children is climbing.

Whoa... This is the cost of living per month?! I don't make that much in
the US per month, and I am considered to make a very decent income! Where
is this?

My wife and I are currently managing to live on $2800 per month, including $1800 rent. We are saving for a house and are living very cheaply, but just goes to show - a couple can survive on just $1000 per month in Sydney after paying their rent if they put their minds to it. Mind you, we are living an exceptionally quiet life in order to achieve this, but having lots of fun reading library books! Life is as expensive as you make it.

i think the last 2 or 3 threads just about sum this question up.
one couple living on $2,800 per month in sydney with $1800 of that spent on rent.
and the next wonderfull post of $6k a month,
as one person said you can if you wish live very cheaply.
it was only after being made redundent and clearing the mortgage, and no more huge csa payments that i realised we were probably living on about £600 a month in uk.
well im sure that me and the wife can earn $2000 a month beetween us, and hopfully live to the same standards at least.
all the best shaun and lor
by the way pb i shouldnt be too botherd about the obesity thing, im sure stress problems will be well in front if you dont get out of there soon lol good luck shaun
