If you can prove that you have 12 months of experience out of last 24 in the specializations listed in MODL, then you can claim points.

Thanks newjersey!

'Software testing' is under Computer professionals ‘Not. elsewhere classified (nec)' in MODL so will I get the extra point?

i am working in software testing for more than 5 years.

Raja,

It all depends on how well you can have your reference speak for you.. Only with that you can claim MODL points,

You can very well claim for the MODL point, with software testing. IF you are able to convince ACS about your experience, field of work in past five years, its relevance with qualifications,ur MODL assessment claim will get through

Re: MODL - 2231-79

The code 2231-79 by itself does NOT give you any extra points.

Again, if you can prove that you have your testing experience in the listed categories, such as SAP for example, then ACS will add a special statement in their letter, that will allow you to claim extra points.

Somehow I am not getting through......... Read this:

* Important: If you nominate one of the above specialist computing occupations, you will only be awarded MODL points if your skills assessment from the relevant Australian assessing body – the Australian Computer Society (ACS) states you have met the criteria to be recognised in one of the above specialisations.

Skills assessments provided to successful applicants will state:

* the ASCO Code for Computer Professional not elswhere classified (nec) with the specialisation stated in brackets - for example, 2231-79 (SAP)
and
* the statement: 'Based on the provided certified documentation, it is my opinion that the applicant has 12 months experience in (name of specialisation, for example, SAP)'.

Note: If you have a skills assessment which only states the ASCO Code for 'Computer Professional nec 2231-79', you are not eligible to be awarded MODL points. A new assessment with the above information will be required if you wish to claim MODL points.
Do you have a proof that your testing experience is directly linked to any of the below specializations AND is that more than 12 months in recent 2 years?

CISSP
C++/C#/C
Java
in J2EE
Network Security/Firewall/Internet Security
Oracle
PeopleSoft
SAP
SIEBEL (especially Siebel Analytic)
Sybase SQL Server

You got the wrong end of the stick fella. I noticed that you stated "certified" documentation in your quote below which is taken from the ACS website. If you read it properly (read the 1st line below) it mentions that the text below will be what you will receive on you letter of success!!!

NOT a requirement for certifications for MODL
