Default Missed Travel Time

I was given a timelimit of 6 months to enter Australia, which expired in early December 2004. However at the same time, due to family issues, I was not able to enter Aus, during which time I also acquired a British Citizenship. Do you think I will able to make an appeal to get a new date of entry stamped on my British Passport (as the Indian one is no longer valid - corners have been cut-off)? Any help will be very much appreciated.

You need to get in touch with DIMIA pretty quickly I'd say. Then agin, your case has become so complicated you'd priobably be better employing the services of an expert.

You can always ask, but be aware that DIMIA don't take a very good view of anyone who's missed their validation date. As wmoore suggests, I'd speak to an agent.

Speak to a good agent but don't expect much of a result unless:

- your visa hasn't yet been cancelled by DIMIA; and
- you've got a pretty good reason for not validating; and
- you are prepared to do medicals and police checks again.
