Default Migration under Skilled category

Hi All,
I am planning to apply for Australian PR under 136 skilled independent
category(ICT).
So going through the pangs that you guys may already have experienced.
Working my way through various websites, I came to the conclusion that
I may fall short of the prescribed limit 120. I guess my current score
is 115. Question for all the veterans here is
1.If I apply for PR now what are my chances of obtaining it?
2. Has the pass mark gone done in the past?
3. What are the my chances under Employee sponsored category

Just curious, of all the applicants under skill category how many(%)
have the necessary 120 points?

many thanks
RM

If I were to guess (and that's what it would be!) I would say that your chances with 115 points would be pretty much 0, and no, the points requirements has been going up rather than down in recent history (115 to 120 just a couple years ago). I don't know about the ENS, but maybe someone else can answer that if you supply more info. In terms of how many people have the 120 points required for a 136 my answer would be 100% (of those who get the visa). There may be others who apply with less that 120, but I doubt any of them actually get a visa granted.

To get the last 5 points you think you still need, have you looked into the bonus points options? The $100K investment gets you 5 extra points and is very commonly used by folks on here to get to 120.

Cheers,
Brian

Dear RM,

If you're in IT and score less than 120 points and have no relatives here to sponsor you, then it's all down to whether you've got a skill in demand, either nationally, in the MODL, or on a state basis, in the STNI lists. You can research those options by starting at www.immi.gov.au and using the site search option. Please note that it's very difficult for IT people to be accepted for the SIR visa.

Cheers,

George Lombard
