Midwife immigration question
 

Hi all,

In my efforts of trying to research visa eligibility and moving over to work I seem to have confused myself if one of the many experts on here could clarify one or more of my questions would be excellent!

I have been qualified 10 months at the moment and have been working FT until recently and I am now doing casual hours.

Will I need 3 years experience for all visas or only an employer nominated one? Or have I got this completely wrong. I cant apply for a WHV as although im under 30 I have children.

My partner would also be coming and has an occupation on the skilled list.

We have not narrowed the search down to a specific town, but are most interested in regional queensland, possibly Cairns or Sunshine Coast but outskirts and towns nearer to Brisbane would be ok too. Open to other states if this would assist in moving though.

After working out which Visa to apply for would it be in order of application; ANMAC then APRHA or the other way around?

he is an aircraft engineer with over 10 years experience but I think its only avionics on the list at the moment rather than his stream of expertise, so unsure whether would be better to apply in his name or wait to see, just as midwife always seems to be on there.

I posted this link for someone else yesterday...take a good look and make sure you understand the registration requirements.......I assume your qualification is at degree level?

As you are not long qualified you also need to check the supervised practice requirements which seems to have been an issue for some midwives.

Search the forum as it has cropped up a few times.

As to where to live then you need to find work first and that can be difficult in popular places like the Sunshine coast......and there are not that many places where an aviation specialist will be able to work

Don't get too hung up on job titles look at all the possible engineering occupations and see if he can get a fit with his experience and qualifications. Look at the duties and experience required and find the best fit. You don't have to match every single duty listed.
Once the visa is granted he can work in any job unless employer sponsored.
