My other half keeps asking me where different suburbs are in Melbourne as he's looking at Real Estate Web Sites.
So for anyone interested, I've just ordered a UBD of Melbourne and surrounding suburbs for £14.66 Plus postage £2.75 from Amazon. Typed in the word UBD under the search facility and it gave me lots of different states that I could order.
Tried to find a Melways, but they don't seem to sell them here.
It's almost as good as a Melways but the pages are not quite so strong.
Regards

It might work, but as soon as you get to Aus, replace that ubd with a
melways, since any directions you get given will only have a map reference
for melways maps, and the ubd is always a little further out of date
go here for your Melway
http://www.ausway.com/ez/index.htm
you could also try here for an active view of any address you need

Thanks Wayne for this info.
I actually started to order the Melways from Ausway, but when it got to the shipping bit, I saw that it was going to cost me $50.00 to send to the UK, which is more than the Melways itself!! I've actually got a Melways but it's at my parents house in Melbourne, so I thought the UBD would be a good substitute. It's actually a 2003 edition so it is current, but as you say the Melways is definitely the better option of the two.
Also having the UBD gives my other half an idea of exactly where each suburb is in relation to others and also the city.
Enjoy your stay in Canada.
