medical problems re immigration

Hi, my family and I have been refused our GS visa, because our son in within the autistic spectrum. we were not happy with the paediatricians report as he hadn't physically seen our son for 3 years, but were advised to send it to the immigration department by the medical officer who did our required medicals. We are in the process of getting a second opinion for our own benefit but we are obviously very upset at not getting our visa's. Has anyone got any advice or has been through a similar situation?
