Default Medical Info, and Costs at UK facilities

I thought this might be useful. It's the current fees for the UK facilities offering visa medicals for Australia. I couldn't find one set of fees, but I have linked the website so that people can contact the hospital directly to enquire if they want/need to. Obviously prices can change, so you should keep that in mind & contact them directly for up-to-date information when you need it.

Hope it helps.

Before anyone asks, yes I was just that bored! (Well, that and wanting to look at anything but organic chemistry! )

Costs checked again (and updated) on the 17th July 2013. Some of the prices have increased significantly (Aston). I would recommend that you double check with the clinics yourself before proceeding though, as I can't guarantee that they'll be that amount when you go for your medicals.

I did my full, adult, medical at Spire, Manchester on 2 June, and was definitely charged £260. As they did for my husband (booked seperately). Maybe Manchester is just different, or a bit kinder.

Could anyone add the costs of UK citizens (from Northern Ireland) having to attend Dublin if not adding flight costs? Mainland is GB, not UK? Or have I got that wrong?

I couldn't find the prices for medicals at either the Cork or Dublin facilities. I couldn't even find a website for the Cork one (Belvedere Surgery). X-rays at Cork & Dublin (Euromedic) are €85.

Great info mrsgreenstar76. Thanks for sharing. I wish I had seen this thread before contacting each facility individually.

Well, I was pretty sad learning that there is no panel doctor in Northern Ireland. Have to make my way to either Edinburgh or Manchester. However glad to know that some facilities provide next day appointments.

I am too worried about the cost I have to pay being in NI.

Additional £250 - £300 for the travel cost.

I didn't have to do a medical, i'm on a 457. Does anyone know why not? The migration agent said sometimes they request it. But it seems that everyone else here on a 457 had one.

Depends what job you're coming in on. Hospital staff have to have them, can't remember who else.

Its generally if you are going to be working/studying in a medical or educational facility, although DIAC can request them from anyone if they so wish.

You don't have to travl to the mailand, you can go to Dublin if it suits better. As long as its an approved doctor it doesn't matter which country
