Default medical conditions of concern

Hi all, just wanted to ask if someone is having the same condition as I have and still got their visa or not.
I'm a hepatitis B chronic inactive carrier. The health authority in Sydney has asked for more tests and I provided them. I'm still waiting for my final advice.
All tests came out good, meaning liver is ok, no harm done yet, wife's not infected, but I am a chronic carrier and I won't ever get rid of the hep. B virus.
What chances do I have to get my visa?

Default it's here!

Hi again,

The same day I posted this message I received a letter informing us that we have been pre-granted the visas. We still have to pay the EEC and enter Australia by 5.Nov.2003.

For others whom it may concern, here are my hep.B test results:
HBs Ag +
HBs Ab -
HBe Ag -
HBe Ab +

Liver tests (ALT, AST, protein, bilirubin, etc) all in range.

I must say I was very scared I could lose the visas, but it seems they gave it to me at last.

Thanks a lot Ritka for your message

I really hope you won't have any problems too.
My current health condition is not really a big problem now, but the future impact on my health may be disastrous (liver cancer/failure, liver transplant, etc).

And to think that I could have easily avoided all this trouble if I hadn't mentioned anything about my condition, as they didn't specifically look for Hepatitis B, I was the one to disclose this information about myself.

But I guess everything turned out to be OK.

Good luck to you too!

Hi Tzutzy,
Congrats!! Good luck too.
Did they ask you to sign Health undertaking after the second medical
test? How long it took to receive the pre-grant visa after the second
medicals? My partner is also having a medical concern(suspected kidney
problem, later turned out to be hypertension). We have just sent the
second medical report but without health undertaking(we decided we'll
send the undertaking only if it is asked for).
Please advise from your experiece...

Hi all,

My family and I go for our medicals tomorrow; I'm hoping all will turn
out ok but I'm a bit worried about my BMI (Body Mass Index)which I
think is just over 31. I take medication for high blood pressure too.

According to my doctor, my BP is well controlled by my medication and
lifestyle-wise I have good indications (never smoked and don't drink -
although I feel like making an exception tonight!) but I can't help
worrying that this is the last real hurdle in my application and
something's bound to go wrong.

Anyone any experience with BMI ratings this high - anyone had problems
with the medicals or had to complete health undertakings?

Elaine

I sent a Health Undertaking form (815) one week after the clinic sent my first set of medicals. After 1 month I received a letter in which they wanted more info (tests). I did the tests, the clinic sent them again and after 3 weeks I received the visa pre-grant letter. It says I have to complete a 815 form when I arrive in Australia (and to contact a Health Service).

tzutzy, did you receive a grant letter saying something like "I refer to your application for an Australian visa class BN, ...a decision was taken to grant you a visa"

Do u require to endorsed visa sticker in your passport.

The last letter is a visa pre-grant letter, it says something like this: "I'm pleased to tell you that your application is likely to be successful subject to the decision maker being satisfied the requirements stated in this letter" maybe in other words as I don't recall it now.
The 2 requirements are: the EEC charge (second instalment) and the health undertaking, which will have to be done upon arrival in Australia, as the letter says they will enclose a 815 form with their next letter (which will be a visa grant letter).
