medical call backs.

Hiya, as you all probably know by now, cos i have moaned constantly this week, Kelsey has been recalled twice for protein in her urine.

Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know what protein means??

she has a docs appointment tomoz and will have to go to G.O.S.H.

If anyone has had this problem what were your results and how long did it take to get the visa???

Hi,
yes my son had protein in his urine at medicals, was told it was quite normal for teenage boys (16 YEARS)to have it in urine in the mornings?? Anyway we had to go to our own doc's and do another test on monday am (Medicals were on friday) and everything was clear, so just sent the result to panel doc (Try and drink LOADS of water before going to docs, as i think this may have helped.

Hi
Protien in the urine COULD be an indication of a slight urine infection. Has she got an other symptoms, stinging etc.
Can easily be cleared up if thats the case

To be honest i dont know.

I think its cos when she was a baby she had kidney reflux and was under GOSH so maybe they think that she should be seen in the same place.

but she hasnt been there for 10 years so cant see that anyone would remember her, would her notes still be there?

Other then that i dont know..

would be easier to go to a local hos i must admit.

Hi,

I think if it's a urine infection there would also be other indications. If she is otherwise healthy the most probable explanation is the urine is contaminated. This is quite common, if you think about it. It is more than likely to be from normal vaginal discharge. When she had blood in her urine was she on or near her period? I know this is probally embarrasing for her but as a nurse and midwife I see it every day. I suppose tho' immigration have to be 100% certain ther is nothing wrong with her kidney's. Try not to worry too much.

We should still have her notes but im still a bit confused as to why they would send her to us,but perhaps because immi are so strict they would want her to be seen by the hospital she was first treated in.Im sure its nothing to worry about though, good luck.

Nickie,

I can't imagine how frustrated you must be and your daughter for that matter, all I can say is keep positive and all will be sorted soon.

Good luck for tomorrow and make sure you post to let us know how she got on :wub:

Sorry to butt in (I've temporarily escaped from the canada boards!) but has she actually been tested for an infection? I only ask because I turned up to my canada medical complete with protein in urine. Turned out I had a completely symptom free kidney infection. One week later after course of antibiotics , all clear!!

Hope all is well .

Hi, thanks for that, i dont know.....i keep saying that dont i.
the doc at the visa hos wasnt at all informative so i really havent a clue. Maybe my doc can test her for infection, the other doc didnt say anything about antibiotics, just kept her hand held out for the fee!!

oooh that'll be good if its just an infection, but shes in no pain at all.
