Hi,
Have got ours medicals tomorrow but have just started my period. The doctors letter says women should not attend as blood may interfere with the urine sample.
How true is this? Will I have to go back?
So annoying, everything else has been submitted so can't believe my luck!!!!

Give the med centre a call. Worst case is probably having to go back just to do the sample.

This happended to me only 3 weeks ago and the medical centre was 2 hrs from home, so did not want to have to go back with another sample.
I spoke with the nurses on the day, who were lovely. Basically their can be no contamination in the urine.
After two goes we got a clear sample.......sent you a PM how it worked for me.

I also had this problem for my student visa medical and I just had to get a more expensive test done on the sample that can distinguish between menstrual blood and blood from say your kidneys.

From memory it cost an extra 50 quid!

Update : just got back after 3 hours from the medical. Had to do a sample twice but passed so now just got to wait and see......

A tampon would do the job aswell as no mixing of fluids
