believe me or not...getting restless wont solve the issue...people here including myself,are not working for DIAC so everyone is speaking out of his own past experience...you can not judge how things work inside DIAC and how your CO is proceeding with your application...I have been very active throughout my case and every time moderators were stressing on "every case is different and give your CO some space" 
but anyways I would suggest you to please remain calm and keep waiting for CO`s input...you will get outcome sometime,thats for sure ...

Proximo , did you receive the request after a year of form 80 submission and was it titled as Urgent - Important ? Were there a lot of updates required in your form and have you recently asked for an update or PLE ? Maybe you are a paper based applicant and thats why its taking time.

Yep i did receive such an email after almost a year of submitting form 80. In the subject line there was "URGENT - please provide status update". They asked me some three times bout various things in form 80 such as parent's place of birth and date of births and complete names of my past employers etc. This thing ended in November 2009. I lodged a PLE in January but got the usual reply "Your case is undergoing internal/external checks and will take many more months to finalize etc etc. I dunno whats the reason behind it.

Nope I got my CO in Oct 2009 and all these queries regarding my form 80 ended on 25th Nov 2009. Since then, I heard nothing except for this URGENT marked email. I think its of no use to submit PLE because I always get the same reply from CO. They will contact me if they have to ask me for medicals/PCC again. Thats what I think.
