London aplications being sent to Adelaide?

Has anyone heard that London visa applications may be sent to Adelaide?
We got an email from an overseas news letter stating that this may happen, and that Ireland applications will also be sent their. It also said that applications will take on average 12 months (if only) ours has taken 15 months to date and still counting). Apparently Adelaide are proccessing May 2002??
Surely this cannot be right. The email must mean 2001
Has anyone had the guts to chase their application up with London?

Yes, I have been chasing AHC in London, Got the bush off on the second
email.

Just for the record. Adelaide started from scratch on the 1st November 2001.
So I think its a good idea for them to send their backlog to Adelaide.

They did that with applications from Pretoria. Took 5 months for them
to arrive.

Rick, Just for interest what Newsletter/website was it you subscribed to. Did they reference the source of information?

Adelaide will be working on 2002 as they only set up in December 2001

Not fair is it. London are rumoured to be processsing May 2001, so you may hear soon anyway....

Not as far as I'm aware.
At some point in 2003 they may send the residual caseload to Adelaide,
but this will only be harder cases where things have been delayed for
some reason.

Mash,
The news letter i subscribe to is from: [email protected]
you can also contact: [email protected]
This is exactly what the email said:

Notes from meeting with Immigration department last week
Dublin skilled migration cases likely going to Adelaide
London Skilled migration likely going to Adelaide (both will have priority processing given application dates)
No thought of passmark moving up or down for a while
Average processing time to remain at 12 months (maybe more likely 10/11 months)
UK, India, South Africa, China biggest markets in order for skilled migration
No guarantee that a request to case officer NOT to contact current employer will be respected given checks that need to take place
15,000 referrals to overseas post per year for skilled applications
Currently Adelaide are processing May 2002 136s
Minister was very happy to keep passmark at 110 points for old applications when passmark rose in May 2002. This may be signs of things to come for future changes in passmark. Ie respecting existing applicants
If you use a credit card for payment of application that requires authorisation (some overseas cards – middle east etc) then the payment is likely to be declined after a couple of tries. Application then returned
Minister wants quals to be for 2 years or a masters to meet ‘recent graduate’ criteria. Universities do not and they have still not decided on what/if changes will take place - for visa class 880

I hope this is of use to you all, we need to find out exactly what is going on. Is London proccessing on a go slow or what?

Reagards,

Rick

Re: London aplications being sent to Adelaide?

I saw the ISCAH newsletter as well and yesterday asked the question of my ex-High Commission colleague who said that there is no news in London of the transfer of the London skilled caseload to Adelaide, although it is likely that in time the residual cases will move.

I expect the London caseload to remain in London until the bulk of the remaining 6 months (approximately) of skilled applications have been processed, at which point the remaining files will be transferred to the Skilled Processing Unit in Adelaide.

Best regards.

Re: London aplications being sent to Adelaide?

I think this is a trifle optimistic. We have applications from March which
are now in processing, but no response yet on any May applications. Of
course, the time between opening the file and therefore "processing" and any
correspondence being sent could account for the difference.

Cheers
