I have to obtain a connect/disconnect license to work in Queensland. Does anyone know how to obtain it. Can it be done here, or do I need to sit a test in Australia ??
Thanks
Thanks

Use this link http://www.workplace.gov.au/workplac...oroverseas.htm
I e-mailed them the other week and they were really helpful and told me the requirements for getting licenced. You can ask for the application form for the ARTC certificate to be posted to you in the UK, but you may need to visit the TRA in Australia, so this may delay your application for a ARTC certificate. Once you have that though you can then apply for a licence from the relevant authority.
Hope that helps.

Hi Iceman,
DIMA has just put up a new page for Australian Skills Recognition Information (ASRI). "This site will help you find out how to get an assessment of occupational qualifications, skills or experience that you have gained overseas. You can also find state-specific licensing and registration requirements to practice your occupation in Australia."
Have a look at http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/index.htm and if you follow the links for R (refrigeration) you will get the details of who needs to be contacted depending on where you want to work.
Good luck.
Cheers,
Paula
