I know it's been asked before, but I am unclear which level I need to sit for.
British citizen, need the 25 points to make to make my 120. Thanks

General and you need to score 7 or more on each of the 4 bands

In regard to your claim for English, the only way to be awarded 25
points for Proficient English is to provide an IELTS result with scores
of 7 or more in each category. (Please refer to the link below).

Testing process
Test Administration
At the test venue we offer tests approximately once a month on Saturdays only. Please check the test date pages for exact test dates and availability for the Norwich venue here.

Re-take Rule
From 1st May 2006 the policy on candidates re-taking IELTS was amended. The restriction on re-taking IELTS within 90 days has been removed and candidates are able to repeat the test whenever they wish.
Academic or General Traning (GT) Module?
There are two IELTS modules available: Academic and General Training (GT). It is your responsibility to indicate on your application which module you wish to take.

The Academic Module is used by candidates for admission onto undergraduate or postgraduate studies and also for registration with professional bodies.

The General Training (GT) Module is used by candidates who wish to study at Secondary level education, undertake work experience or training programmes not at degree level and for immigration purposes to Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Please note that the General Training (GT) module is not offered on all test dates. Please check the test date page for module availability.

Test Format
All candidates are tested in four areas: listening, reading, writing and speaking. All four modules are taken on the same day. Candidates should set aside a whole day (09:30 - 5:30) for the test.

The modules are taken in the following order:
Listening - 30 minutes
Reading - 60 minutes
Writing - 60 minutes
Speaking - 10-15 minutes
Test Results will be released 13 calendar days after the test. This means that results will be posted on the second Friday following a Saturday test or the second Wednesday following a Thursday test. You are reminded to book your test in good time to meet any deadline you may have, as we cannot release results any earlier than 13 calendar days. Test results cannot be given over the phone nor by fax/e-mail or text.
