Last remaining relatives visa - health requirement/ICD
Hi Its a long time since I have posted on here and I am glad to report that I am happily settled in Australia now, in SA. I have an issue at the moment and I know that I need to speak to a migration agent but thought I would see if anyone had any knowledge or experience in the first instance before I contacted one. My mother and my sister and my sisters son are my only other living blood relatives (they live in the UK). My mother is getting older and whilst her health is ok (not fantastic but ok) at the moment there will come a time when my sister and nephew are alone in the UK with no other relatives. I know the wait period for last remaining relative visas is long but I believe they can be applied for onshore the issue I have is my sister who is 35 has an ICD fitted for irregular heartbeats and Im wondering if this would mean she would not successfully pass the medical for that particular visa.
Does anyone have any experience of this?
Regards
Lindsey

Lot of issues.
First, you need to check if they would be eligible.
Second, are you aware of just how long the wait period for this visa is? 56 years! During which she would have no work rights or rights to social security and your nephew would be regarded as an international student for purposes of education.
Third, the medical issue may be a complication.
As a result I recommend you seek professional advice and given the medical situation that you speak to a specialist agent such as George Lombard

Chances are that visa will have disappeared by then anyway but if your sister has a child then you can't be her only relative I'd have thought.
Does your sister have an occupation which would allow her to get a visa in her own right? Will her child's father let his kid leave?
If you want to be with your mother and sister you can always go and live with them so you do have a choice there.
