It doesn't depend on your degree, but only on the IELTS test, so if you pass the IELTS test, you can get points.

The OP is talking about the points for speaking a community language.

Your degree has to be equivalent standard to an Australian degree, and you have to get a letter from your university stating that the courses of your degree were conducted in urdu.

Here's the link to the DIAC website about community language:

If you mean points for "Australian community language" other than English than: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...y-language.htm

So if you have BA degree it should be possible, but I would suggest consultation with registered migration agent in your country to be sure.

Example BA- Maths studied in URUDU will not acceptable for Community Language point

I think you have BA degree in some Arts & Science major conducted in urudu
so you cannot claim 5 marks

Should be BA - Linguistics (Urudu) and you should get accredited by NATTI also

Hi there
I think as long as you study in your community language in university, you can claim the points. Subject doesn't matter.
I claimed 5 points for my visa, for my study in psychology in university.
I think there some misperception that you have to study in linguistic in particular community language to claim the points.

The subject of the degree does not matter - the degree only has to be equivalent standard to an Australian degree.
I have a degree in business computer science conducted in a community language, provided a letter from my university stating the language, and my documents for "dDesignated Language Qualifications" now show as met.

I have same problem. My 14 years education was urdu medium. It was in parts i.e. Class 1 to Matric 10 Years, FA (2 years) BA (2 Years). all three in diffrent school, college then University.

Does 14 years Education is enough ?

Dose i need to get Urdu Medium proof certificate from all these instituations ?

Or any other way to claim these 4 points ? Any Exam like IELTS for English required to pass for proof ?

Please guide.
