Lack of joint bank accounts for a spouse visa
Anyone had any problems because of the lack of joint bank accounts for
a spouse visa?
I'm confident we can verify our "genuine and continuing relationship"
in other ways, but we've spent all our married life in South Korea,
where, for some bewildering reason, the banks don't allow you to open a
joint account.
Had any hassles of this sort?

Where and how long have you been in SK? I spent some time in Pusan a few years back, interesting place. For some strange reason I still get the occasional hankering for Kim'Chi

Re: Lack of joint bank accounts for a spouse visa
Si & Fi, thanks for the encouragement. Yeah, I can't imagine it being a
cause for rejection. Had more discussions with my bank yesterday to see
if there's anyway to add my wife's name to an account or maybe use a
power of attorney for our accounts, but seems Korean law forbids it.
I'll just have to explain that to immigration and work harder on
presenting other evidence.
We're in Daejeon, almost 5 years now. I'll pass on the Kim chi, but we
enjoy it here.
Anyway, since your processing's not finished, I'll hope you'll post
another message if they still quiz you on the bank accounts. Good
luck.
