Thank you for your e-mail in relation to your visa application under
Australia's General Skilled Migration program.

Information about the health requirement for General Skilled Migration and
medical examinations is available on the department's website at
http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/heal...ents/index.htm

Applicants for a General Skilled Migration visa can undertake health and
character checking prior to their application being allocated to a case
officer. The benefit of applicants undertaking health and character
checks may be a reduction in the amount of time required before a decision
can be made, however, applicants and migration agents should be aware that:

* Health examinations have limited validity periods and if these expire
before the application is finalised these checks may be requested again,
and must be provided at the applicant's cost.
* The ASPC may still need to undertake other checking in respect of the
application that may delay a decision.
* Undertaking health examinations and providing police clearances does not
guarantee an application will be successful.

At this stage your file has not been allocated to a case officer.

From 1 January 2009, the new Ministerial Direction gives priority
processing to applications strictly in the following order:

1. employer sponsorship; then
2. State or Territory Sponsorship; then
3. an occupation on the Critical Skill List (CSL); then
4. an occupation on the MODL; and then
5. All other applications

The ASPC is currently in the process of identifying and allocating all
State or Territory Sponsored applications. In addition, allocation of
cases with occupations on the CSL has commenced. CSL applications are
allocated in date of lodgement order.

To assist in deciding when to undertake health and character procedures
please send a blank email to:
[email protected]

for current application processing dates.

Alternatively, applicants can wait on a request from a case officer before
proceeding with these checks.
So by that reply you got from ASPC we can book our medicals, as medicals are valid for 1 year.

And what about PCC,

How log it is valid?

And which is best way to get it Local District HO or Regional Passport Office?

I am from Gujarat, INDIA.

And my Regional Passport Office is AHMEDABAD.

dhreetiman! your wife needs to get a band of 4.5 in IELTS. That is not much hard i guess. In case, you don't want her to do IELTS then after your application is processed, you will need to pay an amount of about AUD 2000 (you can check the exact amount on their website) that is the fee of english course that your wife will have to take after going to australia. so you have 2 options. Either your wife gets 4.5 in IELTS or you pay about AUD 2000.

Hi khurram, there is a third option for any dependant applicant. s/he may provide evidence of 2 years course undertaken in english medium (all the courses) then it would waiver ther 2nd VAC.

Thanks

Got a real confusing email today from the post-lodge inquiry and any insight is appreciated

I had completed 175, occupation Accountant which is on CSL/MODL. I have a Canadian passport and thought doing the IELTS was not required if you had either a Canadian, British or US passport).

Here's a message I got back today when I asked them specifically if a CO was assigned.

Question I asked:
Can you please confirm if a Case Officer has been assigned to my file. I have seen changes on the online status system as on July 15th/09 and assume a case officer has been assigned but have not received any letter or email to confirm if this is the case. Appreciate your assistance in advance.

Response I got:
Thank you for your e-mail about your visa application under Australia’s
General Skilled Migration program.

This application is still awaiting allocation to a case officer. The on-
line documents have been accessed by other DIAC officers responding to
your previous online enquiries. As you have nominated your occupation of
Accountant, and if you have provided an IELTS result of 7 or more in each
of the four band scores, you are eligible for priority processing. If
this is the case, due to processing delays, the application will not be
allocated for several months yet.

Your patience is very much appreciated in this matter.

For any further enquiries about the application you have lodged please
refer to our website using the following link http://www.immi.gov.
au/contacts/visa-enquiries/professionals.htm

Yours sincerely,
General Skilled Migration - Adelaide

Hiya everyone

Just another quick update - CO contacted on 16th July for meds & police checks giving us 28 days to respond. All was sent in by 8th Aug and today the meds are showing as Met on our online application page. Today was day 29 (working days) so i guess that she waited for the deadline until she picked our case back up.

Good luck everyone

It's a part of online application to add to Skill Mathing Database. It doesn't matter. I never heard anyone getting a job from SMD...

I think it was designed, written and implemented by someone who failed ACS.

Any idea at what stage this will happen. Furtherr it might be misleading as at times DIAC are very slow in updating things online. Might b it is not possible to predict
