Re: June 2009 Visa Applicants
All of your dependants (18 years or over) need to prove functional english capability (IELTS minimum 4.5 in all four modules). To prove functional english there are other ways (2 year study in full english medium etc.). If your dependants not capable of do above, you have to pay additional money, that's all. Your visa may not be affected by English language capability of dependant(s). For more information go to the following link

Re: June 2009 Visa Applicants
Yeeehaaaaaaaa...Visa got approved today... looks like visas have begun to pour in July... sorry wrong thread should have been in June 2008 thread...
My time line is as follows:
I had my degree assessed as 2125-13 (Electronics Engineer) in mar 2007; but couldnt meet the points requirement. I tried giving IELTS to get the extra points for immigration but got more than 7 in three modules and 6.5 in writing. In Feb/Mar 2008 my occupation was included in MODL hence I had the required points; applied for immigration on 27th June 2008; got acknowledgement from DIAC on 01 July 2008; CO was allocated on 14 May 2009 and Visa got approved on 01-July-2009 (exactly one year after application).

Re: June 2009 Visa Applicants
Well, just found this forum.
I got married in Sydney on 30 May 2009 and was advised that a Spouse visa application lodged in NSW would take six to nine months, during which time I would be unable to work or leave Australia. But that an application lodged in London would take 12 weeks. As my new wife was planning a six week trip to Europe, we decided to lodge my application in London (my home town) and hope that they can do it quickly, as she has to return to her job at the end of August. So my application went in on 30 June (three hours after I cleared Heathrow customs!) and they took my credit card payment that day.
Everything was included in the application - forms, stat decs, all kinds of evidence, my police certificate and the results of the medical I undertook at the Surry Hills offices of HSA.
Any ideas when I should expect some contact from the Australian High Commission?
Many thanks!

Re: June 2009 Visa Applicants
Hi just wondering has everyone filled in a form 80? I have just been reading another thread and there is a discussion on the form 80. I have no idea what it is and there was no prompt to fill one in when I applied online. A bit worried.
