Joint skilled 189 visa application
Afternoon,
Me and my partner are currently researching a new life in Australia and we are a bit unsure on whether or not we have to make separate EOI's for the 189 visa.
We are both on the required skills applicant list for medium and long term workers. I am level 3 certified in Air conditioning and refrigeration and my partner is a Chartered accountant, would we have to make separate EOI's or can we do a joint one once we have the relevant skills assessment certificates?

Only one of you submits the EOI, whoever can obtain the most points, and then you can include your partner and any dependants on to your visa

Whilst generally speaking the person with the highest points would normally be the person to apply as the main applicant this is not always the case depending upon the wider circumstances. In this instance, currently it may be beneficial to consider the pros and cons for both the above occupations, given that Accountants would currently require higher points than Air conditioning and refrigeration mechanics.
