Default J2EE Professional - IELTS Academic or Training?

Hi

This is my first post here. I will be sitting an IELTS exam soon for 'Skilled – Independent (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 175)'. I have recently been positively assessed as J2EE Specialist by ACS.

Would like to know which exam I should be taking, IELTS Training or Academic?

Thank you.

Hi Kavitha,

You need to take general. Academic is only required for higher education or other academic activities in aus. General is sufficient for migration purpose.

I have one question for you. I have done IELTS, and now 6 weeks into my skill assessment with ACS. I am into SAP. My question is regarding skill assessment. How long did it take for you in total (i.e., after applying), and also after the application was forwarded to assessor? Also, did they do employer verification? If yes, how did they do it...meaning by phone or by emailing etc..

Seems you r from India..me too...so I guess both of us will have kinda similar treatment by ACS. Pls let me know.

Thanks

hi supriyag123,

in total it took 6 weeks or so from 'in process to with assessor' and 2 months in total to receive the result. to the best of my knowledge, no employer verification is done at this stage. the task falls within the province of diac.

hopefully this info helps.

Thanks Kavitha.

One more thing. I have done my PGDCM (post graduate diploma in computer aided management) from IIM Calcutta. This is treated as MBA with major in IT(Systems), at least in India. do you have any clue is it would be treated as a valid IT qualification by ACS, and hence an eligibility to category A (4yrs exp requirement)?...
