Default I've got only 115 points.. Should i apply?

Hi everyone,

I calculated my points for immigration to Australia and found that I can only get 115 points, I am a software developer, I've got my skill assessment from ACS for "oracle specialist 2239-71", do you think I would have a good chance if I send my application now?

Thanks

Hi askanaan,
Your chances with this score is zero. Do not even try to apply-it would be a waste of time and money. I also have the same score and now I have three options:

1. To get State Nomination (already applied for this)
2. To get better IELTS score (now I am preparing for third exam on Aug 5)
3. Spouse must also meet DIAC re (working on that too)

Hope this helps

ur application wont be rejected but will be kept in the system for sometime...in tht time if the score requirement is reduced to 115..then they will pick ur application else reject it later...
try getting a higher score in IELTS ...7+ in all and you should reach 120

Hi Askanaan

To apply for independent skilled migration an applicant needs 120 points. But to be eligible for State Sponsorship, they only need 100 points (as long as they meet all of DIAC's other requirements). And people who apply under a State Migration Plan (when they eventually are endorsed by the Minister) will have priority over those who apply independently.

So when the SMPs become effective, applying for State Sponsorship will be a faster way to have an application finalisied than applying for a subclass 175 Skilled - Independent visa.

As a potential visa applicant with a points test score of 115, unless you can find an employer to sponsor you, your best option is to wait until the SMPs are announced and check your eligibility for sponsorship under one of those plans.

Best regards
Susan
