Investment for points..

Hi again, We are investing $100 000 to qualify. How long do you have to pay over the money after they request it? We are only selling our home once they request the money. Can you apply for an extention if things drag on a bit?? Thanks

Hi MOM

They give you 70 days to invest the funds.
If you need more time, you can ask for an extension as far as I know.

DIMIA do not have infinite patience in this respect. It would be very unwise to rely on a house sale to provide the funds, and remember the visa is not assured until it's granted - although uncommon, things can and do go wrong at a late stage.

Proactive applicants generally arrange extra (flexible) mortgage funds so as to be able to pay the bond before the house is sold. This is done *before* the bond is asked for.
