Internal Investigation
Currently an internal investigation is underway into the visa processing and
interviews procedures conducted by staff of the Australian Department of Immigration
in Russia.
Ranges of complaints are being investigated, from breaches to the Charter of Service
through to non-compliance with the legislation and corruption. Concerns over the
accuracy in recording interview records and the use of speculation rather than
evidence to justify decision records are being examined.

Mr Forshaw has stated that confidentiality will be respected if anyone is concerned
about vindictiveness from the Moscow Post or the Immigration Department.
