I must confess that the delay in our June application is driving my wife and I nuts, in the same way as it appears it is everybody else.

I wish I had been paying attention to the forum recently as I would have joined the massed ranks but in retrospect, all I can do is congratulateyou on a job well done.

We have been lucky enough to get a reply from DIMIA and are at the medicals stage having posted them to Sydney this morning, with a decision being made by October 25th (we hope) so from my family and I may I wish everybody else every success as my brother landed in Brisbane three days ago and has his feet in his own home and a bottle of beer in his hand.

WILL THE LAST PERSON LEAVING THE OLD PLACE PLEASE TURN OFF THE LIGHT BEFORE MR BLAIR RUNS OUT OF TAX PAYERS.

Cheers

Paul.

Ps.... A thought about the Oz elections is we'll need to take a full driving test if the administration changes in a couple of weeks......Better start remembering the Mirror, Signal and Manouvre of 30 years ago.

Dear Pre July Applicants

This is a message from the Director, Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre,
in response to your email query:

"In an effort to reduce overall processing times of skilled migration
applications, the Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre (ASPC) has
implemented new processing procedures from 1 July 2004. These rocedures
involve a more streamlined handling of all applications lodged from 1
July whereby they are registered, acknowledged and initial assessment
commenced within 7 working days. It is anticipated that it will take
approximately 2 more months before this new standard is being met. The
success of this relies on applicants lodging fully completed
applications. To assist with this, the ASPC has developed a full set of
checklists, which will be posted on the DIMIA website by the end of
September. All prospective applicants are encouraged to download the
relevant checklist, complete and attach it to the front of the
application before forwarding to Adelaide for processing.

With regard to the pre July applications, there was an interruption in
new assessments in July due to a number of factors but processing has
returned to normal. With regard to the UK and Europe skilled migration
caseload specifically, I am able to provide the following status
information on the pre July applications:

- All Skilled-Designated Area Sponsored (subclass 139) applications and
those on the Migration Occupations in Demand list (MODL) in effect before
8 September will have been assessed by the end of September;

- All applications with occupations that were added to the MODL on 8
September will be assessed by the end of October.

Anyone in the above two groups who has not received a letter by the
middle of November should alert the ASPC Region 3 mailbox - the address
is [email protected] If applicants are not sure if their
occupation is on MODL this can be checked on the DIMIA website at the
following address: www.immi.gov.au/migration/skilled/modl.htm

Assessments are continuing on the other pre July non-priority
applications in date of application order and additional resources have
been allocated to assist with this. It is expected that the majority of
these applications will be finalised within the standard processing times
of 12 months. The finalisation time for each application varies
dependant on individual circumstances."

Regards

Manager Region 3
Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre

Good one .

Seriously enough, I find it infuriating that the pre-election show off causes this hassle.
