India is considered High Risk due to the prevelance of false documentation provided by it's applicants and the extra time it takes to do security checks and employment verification.

Bangladeshis are entitled to a Working Holiday in Australia, but not Indians. How do you explain this ?

Australia, Bangladesh sign work and holiday visa agreement

http://www.ozvisa.com/news/2006_03_0...bangladesh.htm

Bangladesh has been rated the most corrupt country on planet earth

Bangladesh tops most corrupt list

I'm really sorry that you don't like the way the Australian immigration system works. However, I don't write legislation I only answer the questions that are posted here to this forum.

I would suggest if you are that dissatisfied with the policies of DIAC that you either contact DIAC or the Minister for Immigration. His contact details can be found on this page. http://www.minister.immi.gov.au/

I have read somewhere that Bangladesh has made remarkable improvements in reducing corruption in recent times. It jailed most of the corrupt politicians (including former prime minister) and businessmen. The BBC article you have quoted is 4 years old. However, from what you have written, it seems that Australia makes a distinction between corruption and fraud. While Bangladesh used to top the most corrupt list, I guess India tops the most fraud list. This might explain why Australia does not have a working holiday arrangement with India.

I think www.workpermit.com is a migration business that probably makes money from people wanting to migrate to Australia so they advertise what you want to hear.

Australia do not target any particular country over another when looking for skilled migrants as there is a minumum skill level for migrants ie. ACS or TRA so every potential Skilled migrant has to prove that they can meet that minimum, in saying that in the real world of obtaining an actual job one of my friends is a Recruitment consultant for a IT & Engineering Recruitment firm in Sydney and she says that a lot of companies now are instructing her to seek people who speak English as a first Language or educated in Australia or 'Similar'.

So read between the lines.

And the article notes that it is not the same as the WHV that is granted to citizens of other countries - some qualifications are needed, there is some form of English language requirement and there is a limit of 100 per year.

Also, it is reciprocal - I'm not sure about what visas are available for young Australians to work in India that would be similar to the WHV.

Not too sure if Bangladesh is still on the list of partner countries for WHVs.

Quote from DIAC website

"Australia has signed Work and Holiday visa arrangements with Bangladesh and Malaysia. These arrangements are not yet in effect, therefore, it is not possible for people from Bangladesh or Malaysia to apply for this visa at present. Information about the commencement of these arrangements will be published on the department's website when they are finalised."

Sourgraping blah blah blah

India is a high-risk country because of the many fraudulent applications received by DIAC from India. This is based on investigations by DIAC, not some arbitrary assignment.

Also the Australian govt has every right to determine which countries it wants to have WHV arrangements with. Australia is a sovereign country and can implement its own immigration procedures/policies the way it wants! If Australia wants a WHV arrangement with Bangladesh, it's none of your business unless you're an Australian or Bangladeshi citizen/resident/taxpayer.

Again if you think there's discrimination, IMHO Australia is not the right country for you!

In netspeak, ALL CAPS means you're shouting.
You could have used boldface or italics or underscore or combination, but ALL CAPS is frowned upon and also hard to read.

Hey Commonwealth, i think u just need to relax a bit with this arrogant attitude of urs. We all know that u have the PR of Australia now, but it doesn't mean that u stop being polite with ur fellow HR applicants who can in some cases put up questions that may seem silly to u.

U also need to realise that a lot of people visit this forum to garner some knowledge and are not aware with issues such as India being a HR country, which in turn may seem surprising to them as not everyone uses fraudalent documents in India.

So i would advice u to just chill and try to be polite with the kind of tone u r using with ur fellow applicants.

There is a whole thread on this forum that has been going for well over a year where 6,000 plus applicants for PR from around the World have been put on hold as a result of some of your compatriots actions. These applicants did absolutely nothing wrong and still don't know if they will ever get their visas - See:

http://abandonskip.blogspot.com/2007...isa-fraud.html

and

http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=555044

It is reasons like this that make India High Risk it is essential that Australia protect itself from criminality and fraud, for us all including everyone posting here.

Good luck and hopefully you will be on your way to Australia soon!!!
