IELTS Results question

I just got my IELTS results back and I scored the following:
  • Listening: 9
  • Reading: 8.5
  • Writing: 7
  • Speaking: 9
With these, my overall band is an 8.5. Which I quite pleased about.

What my concern is, however, is how this will be scored when I file my application. I'm going under the skilled independent visa and due to my age when I apply (i'll be 33) I need to have superior English to score over the threshold of 65. Will my scores help me do that?

Re: IELTS Results question

Unfortunately you need 8.0 or above in all categories so your 7 in writing will mean you don't reach the threshold for 'Superior' English instead you will be classed as having 'Proficient' English.

You may need to repeat the test and do some work on the writing component to improve your skills.

Good luck.
