I know that the ielts-test for the 457 visa generally requires 5 in every band.

There are however exemptions. Teachers need 7 in each band, and Engineers need 6 in each band. There are also salary based exempptions, but I cannot figure out if we can use this or not - hubs company thinks not.

We have finally found out which occupation my husband is going as; Sales and Marketing Manager - but we cannot find out whether this occupation needs more than 5 in each band?

And I have looked at the immi gov page etc., but still I cannot fiure it out - perhaps anyone in here has come over on a 457 as a sales manager?
