Can anyone tell me how many months bank statements I should take to
Australia for proff of finances etc. Also, any tips for other
documents to take?

Thanks

Months or years?...I've heard 3 years, others 5 or 7. Depends what you want to prove with them...

I would have thought that our credit file would travel with us due to computerisation - never thought I would have to take bank statements - anyone konw otherwise?

Hi

We did bring a few years worth of bank statements with us but have never even needed them. The only thing we have been asked for was 3 years worth of P60's when applying for a mortgage. Not quite sure what this proved though. Just because my hubby had a job in UK didn't mean he would get one in Oz! I'd still bring everything just to be on the safe side.

Your credit _rating_ may well be accessible from anywhere in the world,
but all companies in the UK are bound by the data protection act, so
your financial details/history can't be shared.

Thanks - I'd better pay off the overdraft then!!
