Default how long do you have to wait to apply for pr

Hi we are coming over on a 457 visa, hubby is a plasterer but we are a bit unsure about the firm who are sponsering us the wage they have offered isnt what we thought.
Can we apply for PR sraight away or should we apply for a 136 visa once we are in Oz, couldnt apply for 136 now because hubby has 22 years experience but no formal training.
Any advice would be great.

If you qualify under skilled independent category, you can apply any time you wish. If you can not get enough points under independent, you may want to seek sponsorship, in which case the employer sponsored pathways would be a good choice.

Btw, 136 visa is now 175.
