Legal temporary residence before PR is granted can usually count.
In order to sponsor parents, the usual requirements must be met, including the balance of family test.

Can parents be included as dependents, when you file under the Skilled independent category?

Hi,
Just reading your message, I dont know the answer to your question, but I am sure if you put a dependant down on your application the dependant would need to be living with you. You would need to prove that they have been living with you for quite a while & that they are dependant on you. You will also need to prove that you can support them.
I hope this helps a little.
Sarah.

Short answer - no.
Longer answer - in very exceptional cases maybe (but not if there are two parents involved), the parent lives with you and is totally supported by you, and you are prepared to take the risk of having your own application refused if your parent fails the health criteria. Get professional advice if you think this may apply to you as it is not a do-it-yourself area.
